My Kid Can Play is intended to share my thoughts and challenges concerning my athletically gifted child.  I have a son who can play soccer.  When I say ‘play’ I mean the kid has game!  I sometimes struggle with how hard to push him.  How much training is enough?  Is he pushing himself too hard?  Is he eating well enough.  Is he keeping up with his schoolwork?  How to help him overcome challenges. How to keep him motivated.  How to let him be a kid!  I could go on…

I’ll be writing about the experience as the days and year’s pass.  I’m hopeful that interested readers will contribute to the blog with comments and posts so we can work through these issues together.  I know I’m not the only one out there with a kid that can play.

Let Me Be HONEST. I have to tell you I have no intention of telling you who I am or who my child is.  I want to keep our identities anonymous. I suspect I’ll document some rather personal thoughts here.  Thoughts I might not wish to share with my son at his current age.  There may come a time when I’ll let the cat out of the bag.  Who knows…  I hope you’ll understand.  Do know this; I’ll be honest and frank about what is going on with my player at every step of the process.  I hope you’ll do the same.

Thanks
Ty
